End of School Year
There is nothing you need to do in FastBridge to close out or finish up a year. However, as the new year will group students by their new grade and teachers, and will apply updated benchmarks and norms to scoring data, you may want to retain some reports from the current school year.
Historical data will be available through the Data Download and as line item or summary data in some reports, but if you want to retain graphical reports with tables, graphs and color-coded scoring info, you should retain those reports by printing or saving them as a PDF.
Recommended Reports to Retain for Graphical Content
Which reports you want to retain depends on which assessments and reports you are currently using. FastBridge recommends keeping these reports to retain group graphical data:
- Impact Report
- Group Growth Report
- Group Reports for each period
If you will be analyzing student data during the summer for placement before fall screening, you might want to retain these reports:
- Screening to Intervention (S2i) Reports
- Individual Skills Reports
- Group Skills Report
These reports are good to keep in the student's file as they provide intervention, monitoring, and overall student score history:
- Individual Benchmark Report
- Family Report
- Student At-A-Glance
Note: Do not change your District's default screening periods until after the rollover. If you change them prior to the rollover, your data will lose all local norms. This cannot be fixed after the rollover.
If you have summer sessions or progress monitoring groups that extend into July or August, you will be able to continue your current year even after FastBridge has been converted to the new school year.
*Please let us know if you are planning on using the system over the summer on the FastBridge Rollover Selection form.
Rollover Selection Form
We understand that many districts start screening at different times. After examining start dates across the nation, we have set a primary data rollover date with one alternate rollover date, to accommodate districts who use FastBridge for summer school programs.
Please select your annual summer rollover date for FastBridge by May 31 by completing this quick form.
Master Account Admin Change
If the Master Account Administrator (MAA) for your district will be different for the next school year, please send an email to email@example.com with the name and email address of the new MAA. FastBridge will make the change to the MAA account at the time of the school year Rollover and inform the new MAA of their login credentials.
Following the School Year Rollover
Once the rollover is complete, the following steps must be completed to set up your FastBridge site for the new school year:
- Screening Periods must be set. For more information, refer to this article.
- Assessments must be added. For more information, refer to this article.
- A new roster must be uploaded with the new school year enrollments, or for districts using an integration, the sync settings must be turned on once your SIS is operating in the new school year.
FastBridge does not automatically promote students to the next grade level. At the end of each school year, the rosters are cleared and the student data is archived and kept until the new roster is uploaded. All student data is always retained and available via the Data Download report for Specialist, School Manager, District Manager, and Master Account Administrator users.
Note: Iowa districts as well as districts integrated with another roster service, such as DnA or Clever, will not manually upload a roster.
