This article walks through the features of an example Progress Monitoring Report. This example is for CBMreading, which includes a few additional details and information; however, all measures are very similar to this example.
Progress Monitoring Graph
- Each graph included in the Progress Monitoring Report includes a key indicating what each visual on the graph represents. Select any item in the key to hide and reveal that feature on the graph. Hidden features display as greyed out within the key, and visible features display in full color.
- Blue circles on the Progress Monitoring graph represent Student Scores.
- Hover over any student score circle to view the exact score, and the date that score was recorded.
- The long-dashed line represents the Goal Line.
- Hover over the diamond icon at the beginning of the goal line to view the initial start date and student score of the intervention.
- Hover over the diamond icon at the end of the goal line to view the the goal student score and date.
- The goal line displays the average rate of improvement a student will need to follow to achieve the goal set within an intervention, and provides a comparison to the actual student performance.
The Goal Line will always reflect the start and end date - and the start score and goal score - selected when initially setting up the plan. However, if the plan spans the summer months and Include Summer was not enabled, there will be a pause in probes releasing. Therefore, there will be a flat line between 5/30 and 7/31 to reflect this, as there is no expectation of student growth during this time.
- The solid line represents the Intervention Trend Line.
- The trend line displays the line of best fit for the student scores recorded so far, indicating the rate of improvement a student has achieved over a length of time.
- Hover over the square icon at the beginning of the trend line to view what the initial student score would be, according to the trend of all of the entered student scores.
- Hover over the square icon at the end of the trend line to view what the most recent student score would be, according to the trend of all of the entered student scores.
- The short-dashed line represents the FAST Projection Line.
- The projection line displays an estimation of how the student might be expected to perform in the future, based on the trend line of the entered student scores.
- The goal line and projection line can be compared to predict if the student is currently on track to reach the intervention goal.
In the event that a student does not have a Screening Score, and the Start Score is at 0, teachers have the ability to use the first administered probe’s score as the Start Score. Including a Start Score helps to create a more accurate goal line. Take a look at Set Start Score to learn more.
Comp Items Correct Graph
- If the optional CBMcomp activity was not administered alongside CBMreading assessment, the Items Correct graph will state, No Comp data to display.
- If any CBMcomp activities were administered, the student's Comp Recall score is represented with a diagonal striped bar.
- The student's Comp Question score is represented with a solid colored bar.
Error Graph
- Blue circles on the Error graph represent total Errors.
- Blue triangles represent total Errors which also meet the criteria for an Accuracy Alert, with less than 95% accuracy.
Detailed Progress Monitoring Information
- The Detailed PM Information section of the Progress Monitoring Report lists the details of each recorded student score from the graph visuals, with the intervention details listed at the top.
- The Date for each administration is listed in the left-most column.
- The student Score for each administration is listed with an accompanying goal line comparison symbol.
- Green Square: The score is within 10% of the goal line for that week. The student is on track to meet the goal.
- Red Triangle: The score is more than 10% below the goal line. In the example above, the score of 87 is 26.80 words correct per minute below the goal line for that week.
- Green Triangle: The score is more than 10% above the goal line. In the example above, the score of 128 is 11.00 words correct per minute above the goal line for that week.
- The Incorrect Items are listed for each administration.
- Any Notes taken during the administration are listed in the right-most column.
- The Most Common Incorrect Words List is compiled at the bottom of the report to guide instruction for students.
