FastBridge offers 115 different reading and math interventions. Many users would like to know which ones of these could be used as part of teacher-delivered virtual (remote) instruction. Although the FastBridge interventions were developed for use in classroom settings, some of them can be adapted for online lessons.
All FastBridge interventions include teacher-delivered lessons. When used in an online setting, the student(s) and teacher need to be logged in to a computer or tablet device at the same time. The teacher will need to create an online meeting link with a program like Google Meet or Zoom. The teacher then presents the lesson. All FastBridge intervention lessons are designed to be very interactive. This means that the student will respond to teacher questions, read text displayed on the screen, or solve mental math problems. Although most of the FastBridge interventions include both whole-group and small-group lesson formats, when used for online sessions, the small-group formats work best. The lessons can be used with individual students or up to 5 students at one time. Larger groups are not recommended for purposes of remote learning.
The interventions are organized into the major domains of reading and math skills. Not all of the FastBridge interventions can be adapted to online sessions. Here are the skill domains for which online interventions are available:

Online Intervention Delivery
- Identify the specific intervention to use.
- Schedule online synchronous sessions using a videoconference tool like Google Meet or Zoom.
- Send the session link and family directions to the student(s). For younger students, also send the link to family members.
- Prior to the first lesson, download and review the small-group intervention materials.
- These are found in Lesson 4 of the intervention webpage on FastBridge.
- There will be an intervention guide as well as teaching materials such as presentation slides.
- Approximately 15 minutes prior to the lesson, log in to a videoconference session and check your audio and video connections.
- Once the student(s) log in, confirm that all students can hear and see the teacher and view the teacher’s screen.
