FASTtrack Reading and FASTtrack Math are tools for teachers to access the FastBridge recommended reading and math screening assessments for each grade level. FastBridge recommends that students complete FASTtrack Reading and FASTtrack Math three times each school year as part of universal screening. The assessments included in FASTtrack Reading and FASTtrack Math were selected based on their capacity to predict student performance and indicate what type of instruction is needed. After students complete both the broad and specific FASTtrack measures for reading and/or math, the teacher can view scores and see recommended instruction plans using the Screening to Intervention reports for Reading (s2i-R) and Math (s2i-M).
Accessing FASTtrack for Reading and Math
Teachers access both FASTtrack Reading and FASTtrack Math from the Screening tab. To administer and check the status of student completion of FASTtrack Reading and/or FASTtrack Math, select the appropriate FASTtrack option on the vertical menu.
Note that FASTtrack Reading and FASTtrack Math are automatically turned on for all accounts and can be turned off by the district manager.
Assessments Included
Both FASTtrack Reading and FASTtrack Math include a combination of specific and broad measures. This combination allows the FastBridge system to identify the best focus of instruction for an entire class, as well as for small groups of students who need intervention. The following assessments measure the specific and broad skills at each grade level:

Screening to Intervention Reports
The s2i reports include information designed to help teachers plan whole-class and small-group instruction. The whole-class recommendation shows the area of reading or math in which the entire grade level or class needs instruction (depending on how the report is generated). When the grade-wide or class-wide data indicate that the current instruction is working, the recommendation will be “on-track,” and the teacher should continue with the scheduled lessons. When the students’ scores suggest a need for more focus in a particular skill area, a specific Instruction Plan will be linked. Some students might benefit from additional supplementary intervention and for those students, specific Instruction Plans and interventions are listed.
