The Screening to Intervention Report for Math (s2i-M) provides data for teachers to plan both whole-class and small-group instruction and intervention. This article provides an overview, explanation, and directions on how to access this report.
Overview
The Screening to Intervention Report for Math (s2i-M) uses student scores from two specific math assessments, the s2i-M recommends the math skill that the entire class most needs to improve. In addition, this report lists scores and instructional recommendations that can be used to group students for small-group intervention (e.g., Tier 2). The s2i-M will display either an entire class or an entire grade. In order to see the grade-wide view, the teacher must have grade-wide access activated by the district manager.
Assessments Required for the Screening to Intervention Report for Math
The s2i-M is designed to be used in conjunction with FASTtrack Math. FASTtrack Math is a tool for teachers that lets them access the FastBridge recommended math assessments for each grade level. FastBridge recommends that students complete two specific math assessments three times during each school year as part of universal screening. One of these assessments focuses on the student’s specific math skills and the other on broader math achievement. When combined, the scores from the specific and broad measures provide important details about students’ math instruction needs.
FASTtrack Math
Teachers access FASTtrack Math from the teacher Screening tab, then selecting from the left side menu. Note that the FASTtrack feature is automatically turned on for all accounts and can be turned off by the district manager.
Quantile® measures (i.e., scores) are available for students with valid aMath scores and are reported in the Screening to Intervention Report for Math. Because the Screening to Intervention (s2i) Report does not use aMath data for Kindergarten and Grade 1, Quantile® scores are only available in the s2i report for Grades 2 through 12. To learn more about Quantile® measures, take a look at Quantile Scores in FastBridge.
FASTtrack Math includes specific assessments of numbers, operations, and general math. The following assessments measure these skills for each grade level:

*The number of scores for students in grades 2-12 are estimated from the number of items on the aMath assessment. The scores shown in the Number column on the s2i-M are designed to be predictive of how the student would have scored on the earlyMath - Place Value subtest. To learn more about the earlyMath - Place Value subtest scores, follow the steps in this Benchmarks and Norms resource.
**Students in grade 2 complete the CBMmath Automaticity - General Outcome Measure (GOM) Level 2 items. ***Students in grades 3-12 complete the CBMmath Automaticity - General Outcome Measure (GOM) Level 3 items . Starting in grade 2, all students complete the CBMmath Automaticity assessment as part of FASTtrack Math. This assessment measures automaticity with addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division. For students in grade 2, the items represent the typical grade 2 mathematics curriculum. Since mastery of basic operations is necessary for all more advanced math skills and the grade 3 content includes all four operations, the grade 3 form is used for grades 3 and higher as well. For students in grades 4 through 6, there are grade-specific CBMmath Automaticity norms and benchmarks. The CBMmath Automaticity norms and benchmarks for grades 7 through 12 are in development. Until grade-specific CBMmath Automaticity norms for grades 7 through 12 are available, FASTtrack math will use the grade 6 norms and benchmarks in the s2i-M report.
Components of the Screening to Intervention Report for Math (s2i-M)
The s2i-M report for math includes two sections. The top portion of the report includes information about the math performance of an entire class or grade level.
Instruction Plans
An important feature of the s2i-M is the instruction plan. These plans include detailed guidance indicating what specific type of instruction is recommended for a grade, class, or individual student. There is a link to the recommended grade- or class-wide instruction plan at the top of the report under the group recommendation.
Grade-Wide or Class-Wide Recommendation
The top portion of the report displays data indicating what percentage of students in the entire class met the benchmark score for (a) numbers, (b) operations, and (c) general math. In addition, there is a summary indicating the recommended focus for whole-group instruction. There is a link to an instruction plan for the recommended whole-group lessons.
Small-Group and Individual Recommendations
The lower portion of the s2i-M includes eight columns with details about each student’s math performance. These details include the student’s name, scores for number, operations, and general math skills, as well as the recommended instruction plan, intervention, and progress measure that can address the student’s current math instruction needs. For students whose scores are at or above the grade-level benchmark score, the recommended “plan” will be “On Track.”
Accessing the Report
