The student, staff and roster data you see in the FastBridge system actually comes from your district’s student information system (SIS). Your school enters and maintains all student/staff demographic information, teacher user roles, school enrollment, teacher class assignment, and class schedule data in your SIS, which is transmitted to FastBridge by a program called a SIF agent. An automated process constructs roster files using that data from your SIS and loads them into FastBridge nightly. Because the data flow is not real time, changes made in your SIS today will be reflected in FastBridge tomorrow, barring any technical issues.
If changes to student or staff data are needed, work with your SIS data entry manager to update the information your SIS and with the automated process, it should update in FastBridge overnight. If these processes do not appear to be working, please let us know by clicking on Support in FastBridge.

Most common trouble spots with this process
-> Incomplete data entry in the district SIS
-
Student Personal Info - Missing State ID is the most common problem. Due to technical problems, State IDs entered into the SIS automatically by the State ID system may not show up in the FastBridge data for several days. Submit a ticket if the student’s State ID has been in your SIS more than 2-3 days.
-
School Enrollment Info - The most common problems are incorrect building enrollments, missing grade, and an incorrect enrollment start date
-
Class/Section Enrollment Info - problems with this area include failure to schedule to classes (especially JMC), scheduling to the wrong section and missing or incorrect start and end dates
-
Teacher Info - Two problems are common - Non-unique local teacher IDs (there must be only one ID per teacher and one teacher per ID across the entire district), and issues with teacher email addresses (must be a valid district email address - look carefully for typos).
-> District SIF agent not responding/sending data
The district’s SIF agent may be offline or may not respond to requests for data refreshes. Check first with local SIS manager, perhaps also with the SIS vendor.
-> Automated roster process failure
Rosters should load nightly, usually between midnight and 5:00 am and include all updated data since the last roster load. Check the student roster upload page in FastBridge to confirm the most recent date a roster file was loaded. Report via ticket system if files have not loaded.
