These instructions are for troubleshooting a student who was in scheduled for progress monitoring (PM) but disappeared. Troubleshooting using a FastBridge District Manager account is recommended due to the access level. School Manager or Specialist accounts may be used but have limitations.
Determine whether the student is missing from FastBridge, the teacher’s roster, or just the PM list
1. Set the filter to Active and Inactive and search for the student's name
Click the field above the list of students to change Active Only (default) to Active and Inactive. Begin typing the student’s first or last name in the search box.
Remember, Classroom Users (teachers) will only see students that are rostered to them, so if a teacher is reporting a student missing from the PM list, search for the student using the Specialist view. If the student is visible under the Specialist view but not the teacher view, check that the student is scheduled into a class with the teacher in your student information system.
2. Confirm that the student is visible in FastBridge and rostered to the teacher:
Instructions for District Managers -
The easiest way to do both is to look on the View Student Roster page. Use the search box to find the student. If the student is there, check for a roster row assigned to the correct teacher.
School Managers and Specialists -
Use the search box on the View Student Password page to confirm the student is present in FastBridge. This confirms that the student is in FastBridge.
Note: The staff name listed on the password page is not indicative of a homeroom teacher - it could be any teacher the student is scheduled with.
Next, filter to the building, grade and desired teacher under View As in the upper right corner and use the class list or screening tab to confirm the student is listed on the teacher’s roster.
How to resolve
The student is not visible in FastBridge OR is only missing from the teacher’s roster:
It’s likely a roster issue rather than a problem with the PM. Your FastBridge District Manager can assist you with troubleshooting the roster using instructions in Iowa: Troubleshooting Rosters and Student Demographics.
The student is visible in FastBridge and on the teacher’s roster but missing from the PM list:
If the student does not show up under the Active and Inactive PM lists but data was collected previously, it's likely that the student's state id changed in your student information system. Use the instructions in Iowa: Troubleshooting Missing Scores to confirm.
Still need help?
Follow your district's plan for support, usually by contacting your FastBridge District Manager. If your district doesn't have a plan, submit a support request in FastBridge. Don't forget to include specific details such as the student(s) first and last names and the PM assessment. Do not use the chat feature or phone support number through FastBridge, as your Iowa support team is not available via those contact methods.
