Once the Student Level Access Management feature is activated, a file can be uploaded to grant specific students access to the mySAEBRS assessment, while keeping it hidden from those who haven't received consent to take mySAEBRS. This lesson walks through the functionality of the Student Level Access Management file, and the process of uploading it.
Required Permissions: Master Account Administrator or District Manager user role
Before You Begin
- Students must be currently rostered on the FastBridge platform to be granted access to mySAEBRS through the SLA Management file. The file upload will not roster a student, and including unenrolled students on the file can prolong the file processing.
- Students must also still be granted preliminary access through the Manage Student Access feature. The SLA Management file grants mySAEBRS access to individual students, but the Manage Student Access feature grants access for the class.
Student Level Access Management File Functionality
Rather than manually granting access to the mySAEBRS assessment for each student individually, the SLA Management file allows a Master Account Administrator or District Manager to upload one master file into FastBridge. This file indicates which students across the organization should be granted access, and which should not.
Students that have been given explicit access will see mySAEBRS populate in the student platform, and students without access will have mySAEBRS hidden from view. Regardless of student visibility, mySAEBRS will remain on the teacher's screening page.
The SLA Management file is not cumulative, meaning that successive uploaded files will replace the existing file, rather than adding on to or altering the current access. When access updates need to be made, a new SLA Management file encompassing the entire district must be made, with the desired alterations, to replace the existing granted access.
The first time that an organization uploads an SLA Management file to manage mySAEBRS student access, the FastBridge system will switch to only referencing that SLA Management file, and any students previously granted access manually will lose that previous access. Once enabled, all students will lose access to mySAEBRS, and only students listed in the most recent SLA file upload will have access.

Download the Student Access CSV Template to enter information for students that should have permission to have the mySAEBRS assessment administered. The column requirements are below:

Upload Student Access File
- From the District Manager tab, expand the Assessment Info menu.
- Select Student Access - Assessment Management.
- If uploading the first SLA Management file, select the toggle to Enable Assessment Management for Student Access.
When enabled, all students will lose access to mySAEBRS. Only students within the most recent file upload will have access.
- Select the paperclip to choose a file to upload from your device.
- Select Upload File.
- After the file has been uploaded, it will appear in the Managed Assessments for Student Access table.
- Assessment: mySAEBRS is the only assessment that will appear in this column at this time.
- Status: This column indicates which file rules are active or inactive.
- Date: The date and time the file was uploaded.
-
Upload Status:
- Success - The file uploaded successfully, with no errors, and all included students have been granted mySAEBRS access.
- Success with Errors - The file uploaded successfully, but there were some errors. Students with errors were not granted mySAEBRS access, and are included in the error file.
- Failed - The file upload failed, and no students have been granted access to mySAEBRS.
- Uploaded By: The user who uploaded the file.
- File Upload Errors: A viewable file of all students who received an upload error, along with the error message.
Student access updates immediately once the file has been successfully uploaded, as long as there were no errors in the file.
Each file uploaded overrides current student access rules, as well as previously uploaded access files. Only the students on the last uploaded file will have the mySAEBRS button available to them. Remember to keep your most current SLA file saved on your computer. Once the file is uploaded, it is not retrievable from the FastBridge platform.
